PADEN, Okla.- The healing process continues for Dalton Henry.
He’s only 15-years-old and recovering from 5th and 6th degree burns.
These types of burns are usually only seen in the morgue.
Dalton was helping an older cousin burn brush, and playing with a gas can.
The gas ignited the brush pile and burned.
Surgery after surgery, his road to recovery continues.
Staying hopeful that one day his scars will fade has been tough for Dalton Henry.
His mom, Carrie, says without motivation to keep pushing at times Dalton gives up.
“It really breaks my heart. He’s not Dalton. He’s not the Dalton that he was,” says Henry. “I think because he looks different. People stare and they say stuff and they don’t know how bad that hurts.”
That’s where Danny Wanner comes in. He’s been through it he knows exactly what Dalton’s road to recovery feels like.
